Ocean
View's program structure is based upon its rules and guidelines. Ocean View’s program consists of the following:
It
is Ocean View’s recommendation that residents of Ocean View remain in an Ocean
View home for a period of one year. It
is our experience that residents who reside at an Ocean View home for this
period of time have a greater chance for success in living a lifestyle that is
free from drugs or alcohol. Residents are required to attend a minimum of one to
two Twelve Step Meetings per Day, depending upon their work schedule.
Resident working over 32 hours must attend a minimum of one meeting per
day. Resident working less and 32
hours must attend two meetings per day. Residents, if not working, are expected to actively
be seeking employment. Resident,
who may not be able to work, due to disability, are still required to actively
participate in some voluntary or community based service in order for them to be
productive. Residents are required to obtain a sponsor within
2-4 weeks after entering. Residents
are also expected to work with their sponsor on a routine basis.
In addition, attendance of Mandatory House Meetings, provide the
opportunity for both resident and House Manager to address issues regarding
compliance and recovery. Signing in and out, as well as having chores and
other responsibilities is a part of our program. Many residents upon entering lack discipline.
By providing these necessary rules and guidelines it gives an opportunity
for residents to regain their sense of responsibility, not only to themselves
but to in all their affairs.
